MIDAS Vision Systems Completes Installation in China

MIDAS Installs AOI System with fully integrated part handling at largest HTCC / LTCC package Manufacturer in China.

Foxboro, Mass- December 17, 2004 - MIDAS Vision Systems Inc., a leading developer of process modules for the advanced substrates and microelectronics packaging industries, announced the installation of an automated optical inspection (AOI) system with integrated sheet handling as the first at the largest high and low temperature co-fired ceramic (HTCC/LTCC) circuit manufacturer in China.

The customer is using the system for inspecting HTCC/LTCC circuits during various stages of production. Capable of moving HTCC/LTCC sheets up to 300 x 300 mm through inspection with precision and speed, the system reduces both labor cost and material waste by providing hands-free part handling and inspection. The system is optimized for maximum throughput while inspecting. The system keeps track of all sheets by storing the inspection data on a server from where the data is used for verification, repair, sorting, smart stacking and selective electrical testing reducing production cost at several steps in the production process.
